Pretiosa brings a classy and elegant ring featuring a gorgeous hand bezel set Larimar

The Larimar reminds me of the ocean seen from above the clouds - it's a really dreamy and beautiful stone

The ring band is a thin, plain round band, and I've chosen a scalloped bezel for this look

A ring for the dreamer who loves the ocean ♥

  • Fine silver is 99,9% pure silver

Pure silver is a very soft material

Therefore, Pretiosa uses fine silver for the smaller parts of her jewelry, like bezels and other little details

Sterling silver is 92,5% pure silver

This is an alloy made when (usually) copper, the remaining 7.5%, is combined with fine silver

This is a less soft and more durable material

Folklore says that locals used to find blue rocks on the beach, and found the original source of Larimar when they followed a stream up into the mountain. Sadly no one at the time was able to obtain mining rights, so in early 1900's this blue rock kind of just disappeared from history

Then fast forward to 1974, the gem was rediscovered by a local named Miguel Mendez. He named his discovery Larimar, a combination of his daughters name "Larissa" and the Spanish word for sea, "Mar"

This gem is only discovered on the island of the Dominican Republic, and The Los Chupaderos Mine is the only source of this gem on the planet
