Amazonite Rustic Ring
Fine silver is 99,9% pure silver
Pure silver is a very soft material
Therefore, Pretiosa uses fine silver for the smaller parts of her jewelry, like bezels and other little details
Sterling silver is 92,5% pure silver
This is an alloy made when (usually) copper, the remaining 7.5%, is combined with fine silver
This is a less soft and more durable material
The name Amazonite has been obtained from the "Amazon River" in South America, where some green rocks were previously obtained.
It is also said that its name comes from Greek mythology, and from the Amasonians who were female warriors from Caucasus.
All the way back to early Mesopotamia, the amazonite has been used for jewelry. It was back then considered to be a powerful talisman for healing and prosperity.
It was also used as decor in building façades
The Amazonite is often called "Stone of Courage" and "Stone of Truth".
It challenges its wearer to find himself and discover ones own truths and integrity. It's said to gift freedom to express thoughts and feelings, and to set strong and clear boundaries - in the form of self-discipline and the definition of ones "personal space"
